Nice day, I’m FlexSim user and I would like to understand how I can get more out of the Nvidia Omniverse connection with FlexSim since the little I have seen is that the connection serves to give a little more realism to the simulation. What advantages are there to the Omniverse connection that I’m not seeing?
Hi there and thanks for the question. I am not sure the best way to answer you question, since it is really based on personal experience and opinion. However, I will say this. I would start with understanding exactly what the entire Omniverse Platform is and the massive advantages of it, in general. The connector is just a window into that Platform. At the most basic possible level, using the Connector will indeed link FlexSim to a very very fast, photorealistic RTX rendering viewport. This has far higher quality and fidelity that the built in tools. But again, that is a massive undersell. Once you have your FlexSim project in Omniverse, you are free to innovate with all the power that the platform offers. Collaborate with people across the world, with Nucleus. Add more complex realtime data from other packages. Visualize the entire assembly line in photo real, realtime 3D, even in VR. Write custom control scripts in python. Test realworld scenarios with our extensions and physics tools. The list is truly endless.
Thank you very much for your response @Richard3D ! What material would you recommend I read to learn more about the use of the connector?
The FlexSim connector is developed and owned by FlexSim/Autodesk. Customers should reach out to FlexSim/Autodesk 3D Simulation Modeling and Analysis Software | FlexSim
