Hi,
We are trying to setup a multi GPU platform and for which we want to start with PCI passthrough mode to give one or more GPU cards to a virtual machine. The host OS is ubuntu and KVM is used as the hypervisor to create guest OS(Ubuntu/CentOS).
We want to know if PCI passthrough method with GeForce GTX 1080 (Founders Edition) can be used to virtualize the GTX 1080 and pass these cards to the virtual machines on host server? The GTX 1080 suffice to our needs of GPU power for the current set of applications.
We could not found much details if the GTX 1080 works in this mode but there are few threads which suggest some kind of issues with GTX 1080 in PCI passthrough mode. Hence before investing much on it we want to know if such an information is available or not?
If this does not work in server environment then please suggest which NVIDIA family can be good fit keeping cost in mind for large scale deployment.
Thanks and Regards
Deepak
