PCIE DMA Bar 0 not valid on all PCIE lanes (Jetson AGX Xavier)

In our system, we have two SSD drives and two radios from Epiq Solutions called Sidekiq (https://epiqsolutions.com/rf-transceiver/sidekiq/) connected to the following ports:

When trying to flash or communicate with the radios we get the following message, and it fails to negotiate anymore.

So we removed the drives and the second radio, and connected only one radio to the pcie c0 port:

Is there a way to configure the device tree to adjust the BAR memory range so that we can use any pcie port for the Eqip Sidekiq Radios? Is there another reason why the BAR_MEM_MASK doesn’t assign properly? Or is the only solution to use the c0 pcie port?

Can you share the kernel log and output of “lspci -vvv”

Xavier AGX PCIe controllers C0, C5 has 16GB AMAP range. Other controllers (C1, C3) has 1GB AMAP range.

for failure case, you are using C1 controller (0001:01:00.0), which has 1GB AMAP rage. If your PCIe device requires higher BAR address space you need to you C0 or C5

Hi @omp, Is there a way to adjust the AMAP range for the other PCIE controllers or this always fixed?

Also, it seems like it can allocate memory for the BARs on all PCIE devices. However, It is failing to allocate memory for DMA transfer using the kernel driver DMAD. Do you know of a way to configure the device tree so that it can utilize DMA transfers from the radios FPGA?

It is fixed. BAR AMAP range should be an issue for you as max BAR size of radio PCIe device is 64K

For what size DMA memory allocation is failing? Can you try reducing the DMA buffer size and number of allocations?

I’m working with Epiq Solutions staff to see if they can adjust the size of the DMA buffer and number of allocations. I’ll let you know if anything else comes up.
