I would suggest you could refer to Jetson Nano SPI Bus Not Working - #10 by KevinFFF verify SPI loopback test first.

Do you connect PIN21 for SPI1_1_MISO?

Have you configured PIN18/PIN22/PIN12 as GPIO in pinmux before using them?

Is there any error message showing in the dmesg?
