Good day.
I have obtained a PGI license but still facing some license manager problem when using the license.
Can anyone please kindly help me out here?

Hi Maggie,

Here’s the key line:

pgi-f95-lin32: LICENSE MANAGER PROBLEM: The desired vendor daemon is down.

If the license manager is local, did you start the license manger? If so, was there and error when you started it? Has the license manager worked before? and if so, was it’s start-up added to the Linux startup rc files?

If the license manager is on a remote server, is that server down? Is the local license file correctly configured with the hostname and port of the remote server?

If you haven’t done so already, please walk through the steps outlined in the PGI Installation Guide, in particular Chapter 4’s section on starting up the license manager. If you still have problems, please send a note to PGI Customer Service (license@pgroup.com or trs@pgroup.com) along with you license information and they can better help.
