Real-time audio via Focusrite Loopback – missing AudioStreamReader node in Audio2Face?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a real-time audio project where I’m sending a vocal track from Ableton Live through Focusrite 4i4 Loopback into Audio2Face, with the goal of animating a CGI avatar in real time based on voice input.

I’ve installed Audio2Face 2023.2, 2023.1, and 2022.3 trying to find the AudioStreamReader node, as suggested by ChatGPT, using the following steps:

  • Window > Graph Editor
  • Right-click > Add Node > Audio2Face > AudioStreamReader

However, the AudioStreamReader node doesn’t appear to exist in any of the versions I tried. According to ChatGPT, this node used to be available in earlier versions but may have been removed. I’m currently stuck and looking for a way to proceed.

Is there any current method to input real-time audio from Ableton via Focusrite Loopback into Audio2Face , so that the avatar can animate based on the voice?

At the moment, the Audio Player Streaming node only exposes a Time pin — but from what I understand, it should also expose Buffer and Samplerate pins to function correctly for real-time animation.

ChatGPT also mentioned the possibility of a developer version of Audio2Face where this node (AudioStreamReader) might still be available. Is that true? Can anyone help clarify this?

If this isn’t the right place to ask, could you kindly point me to the best location or forum for this kind of technical request?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Tommaso
