Removing the image file in micro SD card after setup

I have successfully set up Jetson Nano with microSD.

I would like to use the microSD for temporary use.

Is microSD mandatory for using Jetson Nano?

and shouldn’t the image file in micro SD be removed?

The Jetson Nano Developer Kit uses a microSD card as a boot device and for main storage, it can’t be removed.
