Replacement for hardware based on GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a

I have an old, but quite nice, 64-bit Linux PC that I am about to upgrade to version 5.15.27 of the Linux kernel. The graphics hardware in this system is a PCI card based on Nvidia GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a. My understanding is that the Nvidia driver for this hardware (version 304.137) cannot be built when using Linux 5.15.* kernels.

My question therefore is, what Nvidia hardware would you guys recommend to get as a drop-in replacement for this one, so that its associated Nvidia driver can be built under 5.15.* Linux kernels? I just want something inexpensive but up-to-date, with the same basic capabilities as the current card - not a super-duper gamer card costing many hundreds of dollars.

I guess the only nvidia gpu you get for a reasonable price currently is the GT1030. The GT730 is outdated and legacy. An alternative might be a used AMD RX560/570.

This must be perfectly supported by nouveau.

Not really…
