Hi Nvidia and all,
I have packaged the Zorah demo, improved, as an Unreal executable (GTB Zorah by MARvizer), where you can switch between Restir and Lumen during runtime. You can check it to get your own conclusions, but after a quick test, I can notice some things, specifically some ‘Nvidia branch’ issues:
- Restir is SO heavy, compared to Lumen (~3x or 4x performance).
- Restir shows extreme noise in camera DOF areas, like not applying Ray Reconstruction there.
- RR is, maybe, too agresive, loosing some details and sharpness.
- RR with preset E gives a blurrier image than preset D (The packaged demo only uses that D preset).
- Restir looks a little weird in the interior of the throne room. Additionally, I needed to make some tricks outside, because exterior lighting was like going through the walls and floor, specially in the lower areas of the room.
- RTXGI is more expensive (and not sure is less accurate) than MegaLights
If you are an expert on RTX branch, please, feel free to ask me for changes in the project settings.
(PS: for a more accurate comparison, you should download v2.2 for Restir visualization, and v1.2 for Lumen one).
I hope this is useful for you all.
Thank you!
