Screen flickering at 4k@60hz

Hi guys, I’ve just faced with a problem of distorted and flickered display image in ubuntu 17.04 with the latest nvidia drivers 384.59 with 4k@60hz resolution. 4k@30hz works just fine. 4k@60hz works fine on the same computer under windows 10 and macos 10.12.5 and macos 10.11.6 I extracted edid of the monitor, it is here:

I also made a picture of the screen, but don’t know how to attach it. It doubles the image in upper part of the screen and flickers in the bottom. Also the colors are strange. I tried the workaround from here https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/939971/linux/4k-60hz-works-in-windows-not-in-linux-workaround-found-/3 but it does not work for me.
How to fix this problem?

The timings seem to be the same as in switchresx. Does the 50Hz mode work?

Two things I noticed:
at 50/60Hz, your display only supports YUV 420, is this correct?
Most notable oddity: the driver sets a viewport of 1920x2160 for 50/60Hz modes. Looks like a driver bug. Did you try earlier drivers?

Some research done, the Seiki has only one hdmi 2.0 port and two 1.4 ports. From the logs you provided you’re connected to a 1.4 one. Find the 2.0 port.

Yes, I tried earlier drivers too. The same result. As for YUV 420 I’m not sure, but under macos it looks like it uses full color space. See attached system info screen

I’m using hdmi 1 port, the one that supports hdmi 2.0 for sure. Both windows and os x can run using this connection at 4k@60hz, which is only possible over hdmi 2.0

Actually, a subsampling of 420 makes it possible to run 4k@60 over a hdmi 1.4 (speed) link.
Switchresx also talks of 300MHz TMDS clock instead of 600MHz. But it only mentions supported subsampling of 444 and 422. The display is putting out some really contradictory values.
But that shouldn’t lead the driver to set up this weird viewport, which is probably the reason for the strange output you’re seeing. Don’t know if there would be a temporary workaround using some ‘Option ModeValidation’ tweaks to set up an own modeline.
Other than that, did you look for a firmware update for your tv?

I have the latest firmware I’ve found in the internet: ATSC_SY15335_SEIKI_V42DK1-QS1_4k2k_CV3393CH_V_11_B1716_20150814. Though it’s 2 years old, I can’t find any newer. If there is no other workaround, I can try to setup a new mode to try it on, if you can guide me on how to do this right way.

Wrong mode due to bug, workaround not possible due to other bug.
Just delete the Option ModeValidation line. I think the custom modelines will be filtered out.
