Hello NVIDIA Community,
I am developing a project called ERGOS (GitHub Page), which serves as a dynamic humanoid platform. This humanoid robot project is designed to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world dynamic locomotion and show the end-to-end process. My goal is to achieve stable, dynamic walking through sim-to-real reinforcement learning techniques. This project is still a prototype; the long-term end goal is to eventually upgrade the robot with torque-controlled actuators and achieve dynamic running.
I have completed the full mechanical and electrical design, including actuator selection and joint integration. I’ve also designed a custom power/signal distribution PCB to handle the high current demands. I am now transitioning to the simulation and control phase.
For the next stage of the project, I am planning to use NVIDIA Isaac Lab for RL training and Isaac ROS for real-time perception and deployment. I am seeking an academic grant or project sponsorship for a Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit. While I am an independent developer, this project is part of my ongoing research into physical AI, and I have spent 8 months on the project so far. I have previously pursued the formal NVIDIA Academic Grant Program, but as an independent student, I have struggled to find a faculty sponsor for the formal application process.
I have already secured external hardware sponsors (noted on my GitHub) and would love to feature NVIDIA as the “brain” of the ERGOS platform. Any guidance or assistance in obtaining a developer kit for this research would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Bryan Heddle
