CPU、GPU full load. but VDD IN only 1852mW,and system throttled due to Over-current on Orin NX, Wonder if the system will adjust ,so system cannot run to 25w?

“System throttled due to Over-current” is a warning message, which would be caused from the following reasons:

  1. low voltage
  2. high average power
  3. high instant current

In your case, it seems the power is about 18.5W, so the Over-current (OC) event might be caused from high instant current.

You could also check details of current power status:
Jetson Power UI → Tab: Thermal/Power Monitor → Power Monitor (at bottom)

For the workaround, you could try the following instruction to apply a custom power mode.

1.) Modify power mode config 
$ sudo su
# vim /etc/nvpmodel.conf

Add the following content (which is derived from MAXN power config but constraint CPU frequency to 1190.4MHz) to the end of nvpmodel.conf

2.) Apply the custom power mode (ID=5) and check the power mode status
# nvpmodel -m 5
# nvpmodel -q --verbose

3.) The status in Jetson Power UI
Check if the CPU frequency is limited to 1190.4MHz.

4.) Run your stress tests 

If the issue still persist, please help to provide the detailed steps of your stress test.

After half an hour of testing, it’s up to 25W.but most of the time it doesn’t

    So far we still think high instant current the reason, Is there a log or some other way to do this reason

25W is VDD IN or VDD SOC?

VDD_IN、VDD_CPU_GPU_CV、VDD_SOC,What does these mean?

The clock frequency would be reduced and also the performance.

The instant high current is hard to be read from sensor(ina3221), but you could read OC event count through sysfs. In this way, you would know which OC event (x) triggered and counts.

$ cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon<X>/oc<x>_event_cnt
