Ubuntu Linux 18.04 LTS and RTX 3090 on VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7 Host - PCI Passthrough

I wondered if anyone has a RTX 3090 working in an ESXi 6.7 Host in PCI Passthrough to a Linux virtual machine (Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04 LTS).

Tried both 18.04 and 20.04 and both the same on both VMs. Also XRDP does also not connect, Disabled SVGA driver but to no avail.

The odd thing, is everything looks as if it’s working, nvdia-smi responds, Text-based CUDA samples respond etc using Linux Driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-465.31.run (later versions would fail to load framebuffer issue).

BUT, what we need to do is get a desktop GUI.

Any ideas ?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I did wonder that, I will check it out, if that’s all it is simple fix!
