Hi all,
I am new, with this forum and ubuntu. I received a laptop with ubuntu 20.04.1, and recently updated packages. I do not know why, but the fan “overheats” and makes some noise, even if I am only on internet. I’ve found that the solution was to update the graphic device. So what I did first was to copy paste in a terminal following lines:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt update
ubuntu-drivers devices
sudo apt install nvidia-driver-455
But the problem was still here. So what I did was to manually update the graphic device following this link (and tutorial) Recherche avancée de pilotes officiels | NVIDIA
And it works. But, now I have another problem. When I start my computer, it freezes at the beginning with the screen “Dell Ubuntu”, and I have no other solution to press the on-off button… So again, I purged the nvidea driver and ran the first lines (with the install nvidia-driver-455), and still have the trouble with the fan.
What should I do?
