Update Nsight Visual Studio Edition 2022.3 to version 2024.4.1111 or greater but using Windows 2016

Need to update Nsight Visual Studio Edition 2022.3 to version 2024.4.1111 or later but using Windows 2016. Essentially needing the latest version that is compatible with windows 2016 and AWS EC2 G5.xlarge instance. I am new to NVIDIA drivers. Currently installed on the server are the following: CUDA Development 11.8, DUDA Documentation 11.8, CUDA Nsight NVTX 11.8, CUDA Runtime 11.8, CUDA Visual Studio Integration 11.8, NVDIA Graphics Driver 537.13, Nsight Compute 2022.3.0, Nsight Systems 2022.4.2, Nsight Visual Studio Edition 2022.3.0.222245, PhysX System Software 9.21.0713, RTX Desktop Manager 204.26, and Tools Extension SDK (NVTX) - 64 bit. Please provide links for the download versions and packages that will be needed to be replaced when upgrading. If current packages need to be replace do we have to uninstall before installing or will the setup process upgrade components in place. Must be compatible with windows 2016.

Hi, @david.s.kim

You can upgrade Nsight Visual Studio Edition separately without changing other modules.
You can download from here

Is Nsight Visual Studio Edition 2024.4.1111 supported by Windows 2016 Server and Windows 2019 Server? None of these are HPC versions for Windows 2019 and Windows 2016 does not have a HPC version.

Reason I ask is Installation and Setup — nsight-visual-studio-edition 12.5 documentation

[1] Support for Windows Server 2019, deprecated since 2023.3.0, has been dropped as of 2024.1.0.
[2] Support for Visual Studio 2015, deprecated since 2020.2.0, has been dropped as of 2020.3.0.
[3] Support for Visual Studio 2017 is deprecated as of 2024.2.0, and will be dropped in a future release.

Hi, @david.s.kim

From the doc you paste, Windows Server 2019 support is dropped since 2024.1.0.
So this is not officially supported in 2024.1.1.

But if you have OS restriction, you can try to see if this can be installed successfully.

Should we also be able to remove Nisight Visual Studio Edition component without effecting other CUDA libraries and DLLs. Assuming this was installed with CUDA toolkit? Wanting to remove Nisight Visual Studio Edition because of a vulnerability but do not want to impact AWS cloudwatch GPU monitoring which uses nvidia-smi.exe, python scripts, then wraps as windows service. We risk when we upgrade because CUDA 8.4 does not support the most current Nisight Visual Studio Edition 25 nor does NVIDIA support our Server 2016 or server 2019.

Yes. You can uninstall it from control panel → Uninstall a program
