USB-C not working on both J81 and J82

Both USB-C ports fail to recognize devices attach to them. Teste with both USB 3.1 (USB-C thumbdrive) and USB 2.0 (keyboard, using a working USB-C to USB-A adapter) devices. Any advice towards understand what the root cause is? Tested both on J81 and J82 while using the provided USB-C power brick (which I used in the free port - either J81 or J82 - during the test). What checks could I run for this?

Please remove any other kind of USB cable on the device. Power off the board and power on it.

After system is booting up, connect the USB devices you are testing.

This also did not work. I’ve removed all USB devices, and upon boot, attached a USB-C pen-drive to one port. After checking that the USB was not detected, I powered down the device, removed all USB, rebooted, and inserted the USB in the other port. Still nothing. lsusb did not detect the drive either in both cases (which is expected). Attached go dmesg logs, as well as a dmesg of a successful detection on a Ubuntu 24 XPS 9710 laptop for comparison.

Want to remind that the flash port on your Jetson by default does not enable the host mode.

So no matter what device you connect to it, it won’t get detected.

You should only focus on using another type C port instead of the flash port. Hope you could make sure that part first.
