What's the difference between MFA* and MFS* active fiber EDR cables ?

Hi,

At mellanox.com … products … cables and transceivers … bottom table

MFA1A00-E005MLNX5m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFA1A00-E010MLNX10m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFA1A00-E015MLNX15m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFA1A00-E020MLNX20m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFA1A00-E030MLNX30m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFS1200-005MLNX5m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFS1200-010MLNX10m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFS1200-015MLNX15m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFS1200-020MLNX20m QSFP VPI EDR active fiberMFS1200-030MLNX30m QSFP VPI EDR active fiber

If I had to guess … (M)ultimode (F)iber (A)ctive ?

If so, then what about S?

thanks,

-frank

M is for Mellanox, not Multi-mode fiber.

MFA the major family for Active Optics Cables (VCSELs)

MFS is the major family for Active Optical Cables (Silicon photonics).
