Which cameras are you using with xavier? Anyone tried the TaraXL?

Hello All,

Just received my xavier the other day - don’t have a camera yet… but i was wondering if anyone
has tried using the TaraXL ( 3D USB Stereo Camera for NVIDIA® GPU )
with the xavier yet? Last i had heard, this product had not been certified yet. Don’t know if that
may be an issue, or merely a formality?

Any other camera experiences\recommendations?

thx much!

I’m evaluating the Stereolabs ZED and Intel D435 cameras.

Four Synchronized 4K Cameras for NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™ - Multiple Camera Board for Jetson AGX Xavier

D3 Engineering is supporting our IMX390 standard and rugged camera modules on Xavier at launch, and will be adding more later this year.

Jason

I can confirm the camera off of the jetson tx1 works. just need to add a couple of washers under plastic feet to get it sitting on table without aluminum bracket hitting first.

@jbrowning what did you have to do software wise to get the TX1 camera to work? I just tried my TX2 camera and wasn’t able to get it to work…

I am wondering why the rugged camera is less expensive than the non-reugged camera, that doesn’t seem to make sense?

Thanks!

Scbean,

Thanks for the question.

Our non-rugged version (D3CM) is a more flexible solution (interchangeable lens) and is built in much lower volumes. The rugged version (D3RCM) is cost-optimized for production and is produced in higher volumes.

We are working to reduce the price of D3CM, but in single piece prices it costs more than the D3RCM at this time.

Jason

I used this command
gst-launch-1.0 nvarguscamerasrc ! ‘video/x-raw(memory:NVMM), width=(int)2592, height=(int)1944, format=(string)NV12, framerate=(fraction)30/1’ ! nvvidconv flip-method=2 ! ‘video/x-raw(memory:NVMM), format=(string)I420’ ! fpsdisplaysink text-overlay=false -v

I can’t remember if i did anything else except install maybe gstreamer and all the plugin available.
I am having trouble getting stream into a python, but thats for another thread.

Any news regarding the Intel D435 camera? Have you successfully used it with Xavier ?

hello
i’m a student and i have a project “autonomous bus” and i would to use a taraXL camera with my nvidia agx xavier card.
is that compatible?
and can i use two camera ? how to make the synchronization between them?

TaraXL camera is compatible with Xavier. TaraXL SDK is currently available on TX2, we’re planning to release the new SDK for Xavier soon.

On Multiple Cameras:
Yes, we can connect more than one TaraXL with Xavier and use. You need to develop your own synchronization mechanism between multiple cameras.

thanks Dharmalingam.k for answering me.
have you any idea about Lidar and Radar taht are compatibles with nvidia xavier?

STEEReoCAM™ is a 2MP 3D MIPI Stereo camera for NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™/TX2 developer kit with improved accuracy and depth range. This MIPI Stereo camera is based on 1/2.9" OV2311 global shutter CMOS sensor from OmniVision.

The replies here a year old. Has anyone found a reasonably priced camera for Xavier?

Don‘t have any experience with them and if specs match up to Tara XL but the Intel Realsense cameras come at a slightly lower pricepoint (200-250€)

Did anyone try to use e-CAM50_CUNX for Jetson AGX Xavier? $99 looks reasonable price for that camera. But I’m not sure does Jetson AGX Xavier support it by default.

There is a list of supported cameras for Jetson AGX Xavier

But all of them look overhead for my goals.
