Hello! I am using driver version 470.57.02 x86_64 for my GeForce GTX 1070. After an upgrade to kernel version 5.13.7, I can no longer start Xorg. Dmesg after doing this contains the lines:
Aug 01 23:22:44 justin-desktop kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:09:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x26:0x56:1262)
Aug 01 23:22:44 justin-desktop kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:09:00.0: rm_init_adapter failed, device minor number 0
Which looks suspicious, but I don’t know how to interpret them.
The Nouveau open source driver works completely fine, and the proprietary driver for Windows works on my machine, but the Linux proprietary driver seems to have trouble. This problem is reproducible with or without DKMS.
Attached is the output of my nvidia-bug-report.sh run.nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (124.5 KB)
Any help would be much appreciated!

I was able to eliminate the glxserver_nvidia error by adding the driver modules to my /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, but the “Failed to initalize the NVIDIA GPU” error remains and X still can’t start.
Here’s the new nvidia-bug-report.sh output log: nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (104.8 KB)
I was able to resolve this by downgrading to driver version 465.31-1.
