900-13448-0020-000 escape?

We appear to have an escape or configuration management issue with parts we have received recently. Nvidia PCN211181, where a new DRAM chip was added. The PCN describes that in the low-level “699” part number version of -402 or later, one could expect the new DRAM. A software overlay to 32.7.5 adds support for this. While interesting, the PCN did not immediately seem applicable because all parts - old and new - have the older -401 part number. However, even though scanning the barcode on the SOM says we have a -401, it seems like we have a -402 because we have the newer DRAM chips on the back!

The lower level 699 part number ending in -401 were ordered, this problem should not exist. However, in practice it seems there was a process escape from NVIDIA such that the problem may exist in the new batch of parts as well if we ordered new replacements.

So basically my question is, are the actual -401 available anymore since it seems like everything we have now is -402 (even though they scan as -401) and we’ll need to figure out how to support this issue

Part number in the EEPROM would be correct one if there is a labeling issue.

It appears that the Nano EEPROM identifies the SOM as a -402:

So…It says 401 on the part marking, but 402 on the inside.

-402 is correct. It seems a mislabeling issue.

So if it is a part marking issue and we want only -401, can we get those or are we going to get more -402?
