Additional Inquiry Regarding PCIe 3.0 SI Simulation for Jetson Thor

Hello,

I would like to make an additional inquiry regarding PCIe 3.0 SI simulation for Jetson Thor. (Our previous inquiry can be found at the address below.

Based on your response, we understand that if SEASIM cannot be used, the simulation should be performed using the PCIe 5.0 IBIS model. We would like to confirm whether this means that we should run the simulation using the PCIe 5.0 IBIS model with only the operating frequency reduced to the PCIe 3.0 level.

Additionally, would it be acceptable to use the PCIe 5.0 AMI model as well? We are asking because we are concerned that the AMI DLL may have been compiled specifically for Gen5.

If this is not the recommended approach, could you please let us know whether a reference Tx/Rx model is available?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Hello,

As described in the Jetson Thor Modules SI Simulation App note, the provided PCIe IBIS-AMI model is for PCIe Gen5 only. For PCIe Gen4 and Gen3 simulations, NVIDIA recommends using the PCI-SIG Seasim tool instead.

Therefore, we do not recommend using the PCIe Ge5 IBIS-AMI model for Gen3 simulation by only reducing the operating frequency or bit rate.

Thank you,
