Announcing Jetson AGX Xavier 64GB and Jetson Xavier NX 16GB

Many AI applications demand higher amounts of memory, and we are pleased to introduce Jetson AGX Xavier 64GB and Jetson Xavier NX 16GB. Customer software developed on the existing 32GB and 8GB SKUs of AGX Xavier and Xavier NX respectively will run on these new higher memory modules.

The new modules are available for order now, and will be supported by JetPack 4.6.1 with L4T 32.7. Additionally, there will be a patch available for L4T 32.6.1, and another that will cover L4T 32.5 and 32.5.n. JetPack 4.6.1 and the L4T patches are expected in February.

Hello @prlawrence,

Are there any mechanical/thermal differences between the 8GB and 16GB versions of the Xavier NX?
The integration and thermal guides in the developer portal only appear to reference the 8GB version.

Thanks!
-Mitch

No difference, just double the memory. We updated the datasheets and design guides, and will also update thermal design guides to mention the new modules.

May we know when Jetpack4.6.1 will be released?

Hi @eric87, we are nearing the release (tentatively later next week, although that is subject to change based on further testing/ect). Please stay tuned for news of the release.

Overlay patches for NX 16GB SKU support for JP 4.6 (BSP 32.6.1) and JP 4.5/JP 4.5.1 are now available for release and archived at

can the developer kit take the new variant card, can we install it manually to the existing developer kit ?

What the “new variant card” is?
Suggest to open a new tpic with more information of your “new variant card” issue.
BTW, we’re not able to do any test with it, just can check from its spec to know if c anwork, but not 100% sure.

Thanks
