Black screen on full screen with adaptive sync

Hello,

I encountered an issue while adaptive sync is enabled and going into full screen mode on a KDE desktop: when toggling full screen for an application (reproduced on Firefox and VLC) the screen goes black. The image comes back right after disabling full screen.

The same issue was discussed here: Black screen on fullscreen with wayland - Help - KDE Discuss

Like said in this thread, I also won’t see the issue if I disable adaptive sync setting in the desktop configuration.

A bug report has been opened for KDE but it is suggested to report it to the driver vendor instead: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498987#c3

I too have this issue. I’m using cachyos with kde version 6.5.1 with wayland. Any program that I open that is “full screen” causes the display to go black. Be it a steam game or a remote desktop session. I am only able to resolve this issue by disabling adaptive sync or running my 144hz montior at 60hz.

Here are my specs

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
i7 8700k cpu

Kernel Linux 6.17.6-1-cachyos

driver version 580.95.05

desktop: KDE Plasma 6.5.1
monitor: AOC G-2590PX

Hope this helps.
