Can the Nano Super Developer Kit be used to upgrade the Orin NX?

Hello,I have purchased a Nano Super Developer Kit, and it’s my first time buying such an item. After browsing through some post, I didn’t find answers to my questions. So, I would like to ask:

  1. What is the maximum power consumption in watts that the motherboard of the Nano Super kit can support? Is there no difference between this and the non-Super version?
  2. If I later purchase an Orin NX and install it on this board, will it be able to operate at a 40w power level? (super~)

Thank you very much.

The Jetson Orin Nano Super has no physical hardware and package differences compared to the Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit. The performance upgrade comes from software optimization. It supports up to a 25W power mode and MAXN power mode for the Jetson Orin Nano series.

For the Orin NX series, the carrier board must have an HV rail to enable super mode and thermal designs need to support 40W. Thus the Orin Nano Super devkit is not able to get Orin NX series in Super mode to operate at 40W.

Does this mean that if I don’t run NX series in super mode(which requires 40W), I should be able to swap out the module on dev kit to NX?

The reason I would like to change the module is to use hardware-accelerated video encoder (NVENC) on NX module.

I think you need this one.
