Chat with RTX 0.5 Installation Error

Hello there,
Windows 11, latest possible updates; RTX 5090 with the most- up-to-date game ready driver.

I’m having the following logs after enabling registry for logging during the installation. I downloaded the big chunky file 0.5, so trying to install via that. (Not via App)

Installer fails when trying to create an engine for Llama. I tried clean install, nvidia cleanup tool; but no luck. Also attaching the whole log file.

Please help me, stuck on this for days…

Hi @onuronoglu please see this forum topic for info on how to get help with Chat with RTX SUPPORT for ChatRTX Users

Best,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,
Thanks for reply.. I see that every Nvidia member tries to avoid giving support on Chat with RTX issues. Every Nvidia employee redirects questions to different forum/section. Its so messed up. Very disappointed, as a 5090 user. Sorry, very poor & stalling support. On the forum you redirected, someone else redirects to Geforce forums. On Geforce forums there is no topic / tag for ChatwithRTX…

Hi @onuronoglu,

Thanks for bringing to our attention that the forum we direct you to is sending you back here - That’s absolutely not the type of community support we strive to give. We have kicked off some internal conversations to get the support process for ChatwithRTX fixed.

In the mean time, I will reach out to the ChatwithRTX team and get some help with your installation issue. Thanks for your patience.

Sophie

Hey @onuronoglu,

You mention that you downloaded the ‘big chunky file 0.5’ to install through that. Just wanted to confirm you are using the 0.5 version installer, since the installer is only 12.5MB…

Thanks for sharing the logs - They have been shared with some ChatRTX Devs for analysis.

Best,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,
I tried both via the 0.2.1 installer, (( which is a direct download (chunky file, I believe contains the LLM models) which is around 40GB after unzipping. It is called ChatWithRTX_installer_3_27_patch_v2 but when you click setup file the install wizard says 0.2.1 on the UI. )) and via the nvidia app (that one is the 0.5)

Best wishes
Onur

Thanks @onuronoglu

You will need to use the 0.5 installer, not the 0.2.1 - versions earlier than 0.5 are not supported on the 5090.

Are you using a 5090 Laptop or desktop?

Chat RTX is not supported on the 5090 laptop.

Best,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,
Its on PC. Gigabyte Aorus master.
Thanks!
I will do a cleanup using cleanup tool and try once again over the Nvidia App and attach new logs if needed.

Hi again,
I tried using a previously downloaded 0.5 setup exe (the 12MB ish one)
And I remembered what happens, it gets stuck in an endless reboot loop, after downloading AI Workbench, saying WSL is required.
And in the main log file under C:\Users\onuro\AppData\Local\NVIDIA Corporation\AI Workbench\logs, there is an error saying WSL distro is not found. Somehow the installer cannot “download” or “enable” the required WSL distro.
I have checked Windows Features, WSL, HyperV settings are on.

Attaching the main.log file. There could be some Turkish logs there, with weird formatting, spaces etc.

Thanks - sharing with the team.

Hi,
I followed the link;
Getting Started — NVIDIA NIM on WSL2
And installed the components manually.
I clearly have WSL2 with Ubuntu distro, but ChatWithRTX still fails to install: the nvidia-workbench never gets installed. The ChatwithRTX installer keeps saying WSL2 is required. Installs it, keeps saying the same after pc reboot. Using the default install directory.

please help me.

Normally the above command should list a disto for nvidia.

Command outputs:

Hi @onuronoglu ,

Are you using a non-english language pack? There is a known installation issue with the non-english language pack and we are working on it.

In the mean time, a work around may be to use the following instructions to change the language to english. If successful you can revert the language back after installation.

Please follow the steps mentioned in ‘Windows display language’ to change language to English: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/manage-the-language-and-keyboard-input-layout-settings-in-windows-12a10cb4-8626-9b77-0ccb-5013e0c7c7a2
