ConnectX-7 FW 28.42.1000 no optical TX power

Hi,

When upgrading ConnectX-7 NIC F/W from 28.41.1000 to 28.42.1000 all 4 lasers on optical transceiver will not transmit and show -40 optical power. Upon downgrading F/W back to 28.41.1000 all laser TX activity returns to normal.

No indication in release notes what may have changed and no other errors on the system. System driver versions irrelevant as BIOS sees link come up with 28.41.1000 firmware and sees link down with 28.42.1000 firmware.

Confirmed with two different optic vendors on two different systems and behavior is the same. Will this be fixed in subsequent f/w releases or is this an intended “feature”?
