Cuda 2.0 Beta2 on G80 (GeForce 8800 GTX) Question about reliability, toolkit ...

Hello,

I am currently using Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 , 64-bit with GeForce 8800 GTX.
When I upgraded the Cuda driver from 1.1 to 2.0 Beta2, my computer seems to hang often. I had to restart the computer. Does anyone have this problem ?

The question is if there is performance benefit to upgrading the driver for my card.

I can’t use previous driver (Cuda 1.1) with new toolkit and sdk, right ?

Thanks

Mixing/matching driver & toolkit is not recommended.

Do you have a reliable means of reproducing the hangs, or are they completely random?

Have you verified that you’re using the latest motherboard BIOS, and RHEL4 errata kernel?

It’s completely random.

It’s like, I finish using the computer and go home.
The next day, when I move the mouse or press the keyboard, there is no response from the computer. The screen is turned off.

I replaced the memories, and this didn’t solve the problems.
