CUDA 9.1 with Nvidia 390 and Ubuntu 16.04

I recently upgraded to latest driver 396 and CUDA 9.2. But my graphics card is not supported by driver 396.

When I tried to roll back to 390 driver and I can’t install anymore CUDA 9.1 as it tries to upgrade the driver.

Any help to install CUDA keeping the 390 driver?

If your graphics card is not supported by driver 396 it is probably not supported by CUDA 9.1

I think R390 is the last driver branch that supports Fermi, but Fermi is not supported by CUDA 9.x
