CUDA without any nvidia card

Hey everybody,

I am just getting started with cuda programming. My laptop doesnot have one nvidia gpu. All it has is a intel accelerated graphics card. I want to get started with cuda on my laptop. I tried to install the cuda driver which was not installed, and the tool kit and the sdk code samples were installed. I was wondering is there any other alternative way for me without to buy a nvidia gpu for getting started cuda…is there any option of a software that emulates nvidia gpu’s?

for to be emulated you have write “make emu=1”.

Thanks for the info…One more follow up Q …So without any additional software and just with cuda driver, cuda tool kit along with SDK, and with make emu=1, will i be able to do cuda programming??

The driver is only needed if you are using NVIDIA hardware. It won’t install without the hardware.
