Test CUDA on old none Nvidia GPU

Hi,
I am so glad at launching CUDA for GPGPU. While waiting for my new G80 card, I would like to test some CUDA code. Can I simulate CUDA on my ATI graphic card(Radeon 7500) of my old laptop? Is it necessary to install the “NVIDIA Windows Display Driver version 97.73 for CUDA Toolkit Version 0.8”? Thanks.

Thanks. I was also aware of this thread. While I tried to install the toolkit last night, it prompted to update the driver. However the driver installation software refused to install on my laptop with ATI card. I guess it won’t work on other brand GPU except NVIDIA.

You don’t need to install the NVIDIA display driver if you’re only using host emulation.
