Custom Rootfs failed to boot

Hey, im trying to create a custom rootfs. Here are the steps i’ve tried.

  1. Download L4T 36.2 BSP
  2. Under tools/samplefs, run ./nv_build_samplefs.sh --abi aarch64 --distro ubuntu --flavor basic --version jammy
  3. Run ./tools/l4t_create_default_user.sh -u ubuntu -p ubuntu -a
  4. Run sudo ./apply_binaries.sh (i’ve skipped some packages here because they had some problem installing)

But after flashing it, I never get the login prompt – it seems like the kernel just hangs

why do i need matplotlib, wayland and other bloat? the reason i want a custom rootfs is so that i can have a minimal os.

Some packages in the BSP depend on them.
If you don’t need them then it’s fine.

is it possible to know which ones are absolutely required? i have to comment some packages cuz the default apply_binaries.sh has dpkg dependency issues
