Device boots into headless mode

When running the GPU with nvidia proprietary drivers the computer will boot into headless mode and will not display the GUI. The dmesg output includes an RmInitAdapter failed error as well as a [nvidia-drm] Failed to allocate NvKmsKapiDevice error. This is with the 515 driver and I am running on ubuntu 22.04 with a TR4 processor.

drivers known working <=460, 470.54-470.82

I tried downgrading my driver to 450 and I encountered the same issue. The bios for my board (Congatec TR4) are up to date. So I do not think BIOS are the issue.

He said Use 470.82…not 450

450 should work as well (if it compiles at all), please create a new nvidia-bug-report.log with it.

Here is the log with the 450 Driver

You have 470.129.06 installed which has the same issue. You likely installed some transitional package. You’ll have to install older drivers using runfile

I installed 470.82 with the runfile and I am now able to see my GPU with nvidia-smi thanks for the help.

470.82 always works :D
