
Isaac GR00T N1.7 - Open Reasoning VLA model for Humanoid Robotics - Now Available in Early Access
We’re releasing Isaac GR00T N1.7 open reasoning VLA model in early access with a significant milestone: commercial licensing is now included, enabling production deployments of humanoid robot policies built on GR00T.
What’s new in GR00T N1.7:
- Commercial licensing — N1.7 ships with a license that supports production use cases. If you’ve been validating GR00T-based policies in a research or prototyping context, this release removes the licensing barrier for moving to deployment.
- Task and subtask-level reasoning for long-horizon reliability — N1.7 introduces structured reasoning at both the task and subtask levels, addressing a common failure mode where models lose coherence across extended action sequences. This improves robustness on multi-step manipulation pipelines without requiring manual task decomposition from the developer side.
- Finger-level dexterous control — The model now supports finer-grained actuation, enabling contact-rich tasks such as small parts assembly — use cases that were previously difficult to generalize across without extensive per-task fine-tuning.
