Hello,

in the documentation for the static camera calibration it says that an external camera is needed for the static camera calibration with the following characteristics:

It says that the sensor size should roughly be 23mm x 15mm. What does roughly mean here? What range of sensor sizes are acceptable here?

Is a sensor size of 17,3 x 13,0 mm also acceptable?
What about the sensor size 35.9mm x 24.0mm?

These are the two options we currently have. Which one of those two is applicable for the static camera calibration?

Is there any information on this you could provide? We would like to do the camera calibration tomorrow and would need this information as soon as possible.

Could you check External Camera model required for calibration if the discussion helps?

Besides that, this is not a hard requirement. You can use a good camera which gives you good quality images. Please make sure if the used camera is enough to follow instructions at https://docs.nvidia.com/drive/driveworks-4.0/dwx_camera_calibration.html#dwx_camera_calibration_external_images and https://docs.nvidia.com/drive/driveworks-4.0/dwx_camera_calibration.html#dwx_camera_calibration_prereq_cams. Also, There are few others things to keep in mind while using external camera

  • Auto focus must be disabled.
  • Any image stabilization must be disabled
  • Zoom, focus and aperture should not change
