this information [ as per my estimate ] can not be released.
Obvious solution [ as per my estimate ] could be to have two disc images - one with JetPack 4.1 and one with JetPack 4.2. And it will be a matter of minutes to switch between them. But that design will need 30-60gb free space probably to store two disk images, but will allow to switch between them.
@DaneLLL +1 on this. Honestly, Nvidia shouldn’t be releasing “official” software versions when its own software isn’t updated for it. This isn’t like it’s prerelease software, jetpack 4.2 is the official install Nvidia recommends. Completely erasing my work to downgrade isn’t an option. Please let your team know how important this is to the community, I can’t imagine the changes are that big.
Four months later and still no Deepstream for 4.2? Running old software is really not an acceptable option for those of us that need the newer features of 4.2. No offense but this gives us the impression that Nvidia doesn’t really care about Deepstream as a product.
Actually we gave up deepstream in the meantime. After 17 days of research we did not find a way to make it work for our purpose. We strongly dislike the fact that it is not open source anyway. But it is also not easy to use nor well documented…
