Found Solution to Black Screen after USB Install on Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit

After following the instructions on this page: Quick Start Guide — Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit - User Guide, to install BSP on my Jetson Thor Dev Kit, I ran into issues after boot up where the screen would go black and I was never presented with the Ubuntu setup process as expected. After reinstalling, swapping cords, swapping HDMI cables for display port cables, and swapping monitors, the screen would stay black after reboot. I realized that while following the Re-enable USB Stick for Install (Re-enable USB stick installation — Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit - User Guide), the default setting for Display Hand-Off Mode (found following esc→Device Manager → NVIDIA Configuration →Boot Configuration →SOC Display Hand-Off Mode) was ‘Auto’, and needed to be changed to ‘Never’ to get the anticipated Ubuntu setup process to pop up.

@DaneLLL should add it into FAQ? Thanks

Hi,
For information, in our guidance:
Re-enable USB stick installation — Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit - User Guide

We suggest set to Auto. But it does not work and you need to set to Never. Is this understanding correct?

The original setting or default state was ‘auto,’ not ‘never’ like the documentation suggested, and so I needed to manually change it to ‘never’ to get the display to work.
