Hello!
The log:
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (1.4 MB)
System:
EndeavourOS kernel 6.5.9-arch2-1
AMD Ryzen 5 5600g
32 GB DDR4 3200
Geforce 1060 3GB
Nvidia Driver version: nvidia-dkms 535.113.01-2
Desktop Environment: Xfce4 (X11)
Issues:
When changing any resolution in game, the FPS drops from normal to single digit FPS. This persists until restart.
Some in game rendering also causes FPS to drop massively (latest example: Prey (epic games version), carrying an object makes it transparent, and FPS drops significantly. Dropping it returns the FPS to normal.
My desktop screen resolution is 1440p, two monitors, 75Hz refresh rate. Running games at that resolution with this card is too much obviously, so i play at 1080p, but most of the times, the gamma then gets overblown for some reason, and the colors only look normal on desktop resolution.
New user status prevents me from posting screenshots so here is the Imgur link:
Lastly, the longer i play the game, the less FPS i get, which is worsened by certain UI elements.
In Vampyr, for example, opening the map menu, then closing it, halves the FPS (60 to about 25). Opening and closing it again returns the FPS to normal. Then doing this a few times also saps a few fps each time until it’s unplayable.
I tried every Proton version that would run the games i tried, Valve and GE versions, but the issues mentioned are universal across games and proton versions which is why i posted them here.
The games were also tested in Windows and there are no problems there which is another reason i’m thinking it’s a driver problem on linux and not game/proton related. Games working on windows also rule out hardware issues.
