Full hardware specification needed for a smart city application

Hi all,
I hope this is the right forum. We are developing a camera-based operator efficiency monitoring application for a client. We would like to have a setup where we put

  • two cameras in each room of a floor (8-10 rooms)
  • connect the cameras to a local device for inference
  • connect the local device to a remote server (for uploading inference results)

I am trying to figure out whether we can use Nvdia devices (Jetson TX2) for such a use case. And what other pieces equipment we do need to ‘ship’ to our clients to set it up.
(a service provide with expertise in installing CCTV/IP cameras will be involved but we still need to supply the hardware specifications).

One of the worries I have is that there is no casings (as far as I can tell) for the development board.

Can anyone provide some directions?

Best

There is no update from you for a period, assuming this is not an issue any more.
Hence we are closing this topic. If need further support, please open a new one.
Thanks

Hi,

Could you share more detail about your use case?

Since cable length is usually limited, it seems hard to connect all the camera in 8 rooms to the same board.
Is this something you are trying to find? Or the camera will connect to network and inference as a RTSP input?

Thanks.

Hi AastaLLL,
I somehow missed the notification for your reply. My apologies.

I know very little about electronic equipment or networks. But you are right about the cable length issue. So, we shall need IP cameras connected to a local network through a wifi.

As I mentioned in the question, our first priority is to understand the hardware specifications we need.

Thanks again
