Hi, I’m aware this is a known issue, although I don’t see it mentioned as often as DX12 performance. I believe all NVIDIA laptop users on Linux experience a terrible performance hit when plugging in an external monitor to their laptops to the point it’s simply not worth playing that way, has this issue been identified and are people inside NVIDIA working on it?
This is regardless of whether you connect directly to the GPU (via Displayport ↔ USB-C in my case) like I do on Windows, where it even gives a small FPS boost. I am on a 2021ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 with an RTX 3070 and AMD 5900HS CPU, where The Witcher 3 gives me around 78 FPS using the laptop’s 1440p display; whereas connecting to my 1440p monitor instantly bring it down to around 52-58 FPS.
Just asking so I can keep track of it as I think this issue is not as widely reported.
