Hello everyone. I am successfully using the excellent Waveshare JetBot kit. It is great. My issue is that the wheels won’t drive over very low carpet. If I increase the speed, they will, but too high a speed does not allow enough time for collision avoidance. I was wondering if there was a higher torque wheel motor that could be swapped out for the standard wheel motor. TIA.

Hi dennis.faucher,
Thanks for reaching out!
I believe Adafruit sells a higher torque motor with similar form factor. It may be worth trying
Alternatively, there are software optimizations that can lower the latency of the collision avoidance example. For more information check out JetRacer and torch2trt projects
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Best,
John

I just read the description: 1/2 the speed, twice the torque. Perfect. I am running the Waveshare motors at 25% speed now so a cut in speed is NBD.
