How to change link type for MCX755106AS-HEAT

Hi,

I recently acquired a MCX755106AS-HEAT 2x200G NIC. I would like to configure both the port in ETH link layer mode. However, I could only change the link mode for one of the ports to ETH using mlxconfig. mlxconfig reports that LINK_TYPE_P1 configuration is not supported for this device.

Is there a different way to change the link type for port 1? Perhaps a different firmware is necessary?
Does this NIC model only support one of the ports in ETH mode?

I would appreciate any help with this.

Hi,

The ConnectX-7 model you are using is a VPI model, this means that only the first port (port0) can be either ETH or IB, but the second port (port1) can only be IB. This is the reason for the error you are having.
