How to change to pcie de-emphasis

hello,i use “sudo lspci -vvv”. Current De-emphasis Level is -6db. how t0 modify to -3.5db.
the TRM have PCIE_X1_RC_PF0_PORT_LOGIC_GEN2_CTRL_OFF_0 register, but i won’t use

We would like to know the reason why you want to change the default value.

Hi,vidyas,Thank you for your reply 。
I use Samsung EVO970 1T SSD and HP 1T SSD, but the EVO970 has been having problems. I want to modify the de-emphasis to improve the compatibility, and test whether there is any improvement.

Can the value of De-emphasis be modified?

I’m interested to know about the issue being solved here. I see that the NVMe is enumerated at Gen-3 speed already.
FWIW, the field ‘Compliance Preset/De-emphasis’ in Link_Control_Reg_2 can be programmed before the link is up with the endpoint (i.e. in the tegra_pcie_dw_host_init() API), but what I heard from the HW engineers is that ultimately the value is set by what the NVMe drive requests. So, are you saying that you have a way to configure the NVMe to request for a specific value?

I used Samsung’s hard drive on the base plate of our own design. The quality of the eye diagrams viewed through the oscilloscope is not very good. By modifying the De-emphasis parameters, I can see if there is any improvement.
Or do you have other ways to improve the compatibility of the board.

I cannot configure the NVMe driver. How can I check the value of the current Link_Control_Reg_2 register and whether I can modify it through the devmem2 command.

I modified the “Compliance Preset/De-emphasis” value of the Link_Control_Reg_2 register in the tegra_pcie_dw_host_init() function, but the value of “Compliance De-emphasis” was not changed through the “sudo lspci -vvv” command. Is there any other way to modify the value of “Compliance De-emphasis”

It is only effective changing it in tegra_pcie_dw_host_init() API. Changing it through lspci is of no use as it won’t become effective.
