I has customer report that AGX Xavier DVK cannot find two different vendor’s M.2 key m SSD on internal m.2 slot[J1] but can found on a PCIe slot [J6] with adapter.

we has tried PC SN520 M.2 NVME SSD on customer Xavier DVK internal m.2 slot[J1] and can found under Ubuntu.

It was the issue I have actually.
I know Xavier DVK’s m.2 socket only supports NVMe SSD. I am 100% sure that both Adata SX8000 and Kingston KC1000 are m.2 NVMe SSD and they work fine on many PC mother boards with chipset such as intel H310, B360, Z390 either internal m.2 NVMe socket or via a passive PCIe-to-nvme adapter on the PCIe slot, you can refer to M.2 NVMe SSD PCIe to PCIe 3.0 X4 Adapter + M.2 NVMe Cooling Heatsink - Support PCI-E NVME 2280, 2260, 2242,2230 for Samsung950Pro, 960Evo, XP940, PM951, PM961, SM951, SM961, OCA RD400, Toshiba BG1 ect - Newegg.com for such adapter.
The strange thing is the SSDs don’t work on Xavier DVK’s internal m.2 NVMe socket but they work fine if installed via the passive PCIe-to-NVMe adapter on the DVK’s PCIe slot, so I assume the Xavier software should be fine.
So the question should be “What are differences between the internal NVMe socket and PCIe slot?”

Can you please attach ‘sudo lspci -vvvv’ output when you connect them to PCIe slot through the adapter?
If you see that the PCIe link width is x2 when connected to PCIe slot, can you please edit ‘num-lanes’ property of the PCIe node to ‘2’ and try again?
In this case, NVMe slot (M.2 Key-M) is owned by the PCIe controller node ‘pcie@14180000’. Please edit ‘num-lanes’ property of this node to ‘2’.
