If it is enough to modify the dtsi file without modifying the hardware in jetson TX2?

We are developing a carrier board for the jetson TX2 and designed the following for usb. We can’t terminate the unused USB, so it’s just floating.

when booting, it shows the following message:

We know that we need to modify the dtsi file.

If it is enough to modify the dtsi file without modifying the hardware for usb operation?

Please tell me more considerations.

Any help is greatly appreciated- thank you!

Please check if your design matches the TX2 OEM design guide first.

Then, for the dtsi change, please refer to TX2 adaptation guide.

Thank you for your reply, however, I checked TX2 OEM Design guide several times and have a question for you.

I know that needs to modify dtsi file.

Does it needs to terminate unused pin of other USB as TX2 OEM design guide?

If it needs termination for USB, I have to decide to design new carrier board of Jetson TX2.

I always appreciate your review

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I am not sure what is “We can’t terminate the unused USB”. Do you have less usb ports than our default design on devkit?

If so, adaptation guide should help…

Hi,

We will make 2nd carrier board for jetson tx2.

1th carrier board is not working USB2.0 and I checked “NVIDIA Jetson TX2 Series OEM Product Design Guide”

Page 32 in NVIDIA Jegtson TX2 Series OEM Product Design Guide, it is following this:

Table 18. Termination
90Ω common-mode chokes close to connector. ESD Protection between choke & connector on each line to GND

What is mean this sentence? Please show me that is figure or schematic…

when it don’t used M.2 Key pin so we will open USB2_D(B42), USB2_D(B43) pin, is this no problem?

Always thanks for your help!!

Please refer to table 15 in OEM DG to decide which config you will use, and for each port design, there is example in figure 21 and figure 22 in OEM DG, also you can refer to schematic of carrier board of dev kit in DLC. https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/downloads
