Install NVIDIA EN Driver for Linux and failed to have active devices

Hi all,

I have a MT27800 Family ConnectX-5 Mellanox device, and I installed https://www.mellanox.com/downloads/ofed/MLNX_EN-24.07-0.6.1.0/mlnx-en-24.07-0.6.1.0-ubuntu22.04-x86_64.tgz for enable the network. But after I installed it and ran /etc/init.d/mlnx-en.d status and get 2 Configured Mellanox EN devices and 0 Currently active Mellanox devices. It persists after I restart and reboot the machine. Does anyone have similar experience? Thanks.

Hello yeyuxin9816,

Thank you for posting your inquiry on the NVIDIA Developer Forum - Infrastructure and Networking - Section.

Based on the information provided, it can have several causes:

  • Current adapter link type is set to Infiniband → You need to change the link_type of the adapter → Using mlxconfig - NVIDIA Docs
  • Driver not properly installed → check system and driver installation log
  • Running Unsupported Linux Distro and/kernel version

You can also install the complete MLNX_OFED driver installation to make sure you have all OFED packages installed you want.

Thank you and regards,
