I strongly prefer a non root and distribution independent solution. Nvidia should provide a conda package if possible. I don’t understand why it’s not available.

Unfortunately I, like the OP, has no access to sudo. I would appreciate a method to install this in a way that requires no root access. Conda is mentioned by the OP probably because it is the go-to replacement for apt when no root access is possible.
