Is there a way to manage prim like Unity's prefab or Sketchup's component?

I want to manage prim like Unity’s prefab or sketchup’s component.

If it’s a prim with the same properties, all of them change when you change it.

In USD you can do this by putting the model in a separate file then creating a “reference” to the file. If you change the settings in the referenced file (the equivalent of a Unity prefab), all locations referencing it get updated. So “references” are kinda like prefab references, and “layers” and kinda like “overrides” of prefabs
