Issue flashing Jetson via sdkmanager

Hi,

I am having issues flashing the Jetson Orin Nano via the sdkmanager to a microSD card in the Jetson. I am using Ubuntu-20.04 within wsl on a Windows laptop. The Jetson keeps disconnecting and reconnecting as I have auto-attach on. However, halfway through the flash, the Jetson seems to boot up (I see the NVIDIA boot logo screen) and my laptop itself no longer recognises the device. Therefore, I can no longer attach it to the wsl and the flash errors out with “hardware not detected”.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
Please EXPORT LOGS for more information as shown in the image.

Also one question to confirm:
Is your Orin Nano a dev kit or the custom carrier board.

It is highly recommended to use a physical machine running Ubuntu 20.04 with the SDK Manager. If you have the physical host, please try it first.

Thanks

Hi,

Here are the logs and it is the dev kit.

Thanks

Is this still an issue to support? Any result can be shared?

Hi,

It seems you are using WSL for flashing. However, during the flashing process, the Orin Nano will frequently connect and disconnect, which may cause WSL, as a virtual machine, to fail in recognizing the USB device.
In short, resolving this issue with WSL can be time-consuming and require significant effort.
A quicker method would be to use a physical machine running Ubuntu 20.04 instead of a virtual machine.

Thanks

Hi,

Happy New Year. Sorry for the slow response; I had been away from the Jetson board at work.

I have now obtained a computer which I have freshly flashed Ubuntu20.04 onto but now I am getting new errors - dependency errors. I have attached the logs.

Thanks

You need 22.04 to work with jetpack 6.1

Acutally, I was only able to flahs 6.1 with 20.4 and not 22.4, but could also be because of the host computer and not only the OS.

Cool!!
Glad you got it working.
