jetpack 4.2 download and install failed on Jetson TX2

Hi,

I am getting multiple errors while downloading and installing Jetpack 4.2 Host components and target components.

Those are all download errors. Does your host PC have internet access? Is there any kind of proxy or firewall which might interfere?

My PC did have internet access. After updating SDK Manager and installing Jetpack 4.2.2 I could flash TX2.

I have one more question. Nsight Eclipse Edition was not installed with Jetpack 4.2.2 on host PC, I installed it seperately and setup host by following steps from https://devblogs.nvidia.com/cuda-jetson-nvidia-nsight-eclipse-edition/

Is this a correct way to do?

Typically host side components are installed somewhere in “/usr/local/”. The CUDA bin directory for a given release should have “nsight” in it. So for example (using an out of date CUDA release 10.0), you may have “/usr/local/cuda-10.0/bin/nsight”. A good way to make this more easily accessible might be a symbolic link in “/usr/local/bin/”, for example:

cd /usr/local/bin
sudo ln -s ../cuda-10.0/bin/nsight .

Then, if “/usr/local/bin/” is in your default path, you could start nsight on any command line just by typing “nsight”.

at path /usr/local/cuda-10.0/bin/ , I do not have nsight installed.
Was something missing in my Jetpack install?

Someone else may have a definite answer, but I am uncertain if nsight is a separate option or not, but I think nsight install is a separate checkbox/option. You would of course have to have a particular version of CUDA installed to host prior to installing nsight, or else the directory would not exist. FYI, you can uncheck other steps and just install packages to a host without going through everything, so it is easy enough to test that.

Thank for your patient responses. I am quite new to Jetson and Cuda, hence sometimes might have some basic queries.
In CUDA Toolkit, there was no checkbox for Nsight Eclipse Edition, there were checkboxes for Nsight Systems and Nvidia Graphics, But the SDK Manager site mentioned that CUDA Toolkit includes Nsight eclipse edition, hence I was searching for it after install.

You are on the right track. The current JetPack release is 4.2.2; this is the information blurb on 4.2.2 (you would have to log in here, and then click the link a second time since redirect does not work):

This URL is more specific to the installer and has some images (note where it has “developer tools”):
https://docs.nvidia.com/sdk-manager/install-with-sdkm-jetson/index.html

“Developer tools” would be what installs nsight. CUDA is a separate install item.

Note that if you uncheck flash, then you can add packages to either the Jetson or the host PC at any time and not worry about starting from scratch.
