We are pleased to announce JetPack 4.3 supporting Jetson AGX Xavier series, Jetson TX2 series, Jetson TX1, and Jetson Nano.

JetPack 4.3 key features include new versions of TensorRT and cuDNN, Docker support for CSI cameras, Xavier DLA, and Video Encoder from within containers, and a new Debian package server put in place to host all NVIDIA JetPack-L4T components for installation and future JetPack OTA updates.

JetPack 4.3 Highlights:

  • Support for TensorRT 6.0.1 and cuDNN 7.6.3
  • Full support for DLA INT8 on Jetson AGX Xavier
  • Support for installation of JetPack components via Debian package archives
    • JetPack components are provided as Debian packages via a public APT server hosted by NVIDIA, enabling easier upgrades of JetPack components to future versions. Previous versions of JetPack need to be re-flashed to JetPack 4.3, after which the APT server can be used.
  • Support for CSI, DLA, and Video Encoder from within containers
    • On all Jetson products: Camera Serial Interface (CSI) and NVENC are now supported from within containers.
    • On Jetson AGX Xavier series only: NVIDIA Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA) engines are now supported from within containers.
  • Support for DeepStream 4.0.2
  • Support for ISAAC SDK version 2019.3
  • New easy to use Jetson-IO tool to configure 40-pin header on Jetson developer kits
  • Developer preview of VPI (Vision Programing Interface), a software library that provides Computer Vision and Image Processing algorithms implemented on Xavier Vision Accelerator, GPU and CPU.
    • GPU and CPU implementations are not optimized for performance in this preview release of VPI. A future release will bring performance optimized GPU and CPU implementations

Thank you for the JetPack 4.3 release!
I cannot find the previous version 4.2.3 in the JetPack archive https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetpack-archive.
This means that you have retired JetPack 4.2.3?

Hi tfuru2, you can still select JetPack 4.2.3 from the SDK Manager to install, and the Nano SD card image for 4.2.3 is still available to download here. We will get the archives page updated with 4.2.3 as well.

Can we have a bit more detail about the Jetson IO-tool to easily configure the 40-pin header please?
How easy will it be to have GPIO as in RPis for example?

As previously, the Jetson.GPIO Python API is provided which is compatible with rPI.GPIO library.

Still no API for the Stereo & Opitcal Flow Engine (SOFE) on the Xavier?

Hi mosshammer.a, the new VPI API provides hardware-accelerated stereo and optical flow tracking.

Thanks for your response. I’ve already seen the VPI documentation, but what I’m particularly looking for is something comparable to the Optical Flow SDK, which is already supported by the DeepStream 4.0 SDK and apparently uses dedicated hardware chips such as NVENC on Turing GPUs and the SOFE on the Xavier (from the DeepStream FAQ: “Optical flow functionality is supported only on NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Xavier™ and on GPUs with Turing architecture (NVIDIA® T4, NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080, etc.).”). The limitations of the PVA on stereo estimation resolution are just too limiting for a lot of use cases. There’s also CUDA support, but I need the GPU resources for DNN inference. And while there’s support for optical flow tracking in the VPI, there’s no support for calculation of sparse/dense optical flow yet. Could you share any information on the availability of an API that provides such functionality outside of DeepStream as the official Optical Flow SDK does not support Xavier?

As a result, I found stereo matching API in VPI.

But, I could not find optical flow API in VPI.
Do you have a plan to provide optical flow API in VPI?

Hi, I’ve tried to setup the Jetpack 4.3 to Xavier with SDK manager but failed on OpenCV download steps as following error log. Installing JetPack 4.2.3 was success fully finished. So, my environment would be good. Someone help?
